A diagnosis isn’t the end of your child’s story.

Children are resilient and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an effective treatment for those living with the symptoms of autism, anxiety or other challenges that cause them to:

  • Seem disconnected or unreachable
  • Engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior
  • Experience delayed language, social, educational and self-care skills
  • Have difficulty learning or acquiring new skills

Independence, change and meaningful relationships are possible. We invite you to see how ABA can help.

How Does Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Help Your Child?

Common benefits of ABA include:

  • Increases language and communication
  • Improves social and play skills
  • Increases independence; toileting, dressing, feeding
  • Reduces tantrums & aggression
  • Increases a child’s ability to express wants and needs
  • Increases a child’s ability to return to a more traditional learning environment
  • Reduces self-abusive or other unsafe behaviors
  • Increases the ability to self-regulate and participate across all environments

Myths About ABA

Unfortunately, sometimes parents are concerned because they have heard that:

  • ABA teaches only rote responses
  • ABA changes a child’s personality
  • ABA is all about drill work and repetition
  • ABA is one-size-fits all
  • ABA is only done at a table
  • ABA does not generalize across environments
  • ABA is about “training” your child

The truth is, ABA is considered an evidence-based best practice treatment by the US Surgeon General and by the American Psychological Association.  ABA is a flexible treatment, adapted to meet the needs of each unique person.
