iLs has a global effect on the brain and central nervous system, influencing the following systems:
- Balance
- Visual
- Auditory
- Motor coordination
- Behavior
- Emotional regulation
The iLs approach consists of modified music, mostly classical music, specially modified for timing and frequency emphasis, and is used in conjunction with special headphones that provide various levels of bone conduction.

iLs can be especially beneficial to helping children and adults diagnosis struggling in the following areas:
- Learning disabilities, reading, auditory processing disorders
