Commit

At Family First, we believe it is important to fully commit when you find your passion. By fully commit, we mean making it part of your life, engaging in and standing for whatever it is you believe in.

We found a wonderful group, Hope For Three, that is doing just that!  This organization has dedicated  www.hopeforthree.org to Autism Awareness as well as providing financial support to families who have a child or children on the spectrum. They help and support with therapies, treatments, doctor visits and so much more. How do they do it? Events, donations, and volunteers around the surrounding area. It’s pretty wonderful!

“Take me out to the ball game, Take me out to the crowd! Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks- I don’t care if I never get back!”

The weekend of  APRIL 27th, 2014, Hope For Three will be putting on the Second Annual Family Fun Day Strike Out Autism! Strike Out Autism is a partnership with the Sugarland Skeeters, Honorable Judge Herbert, Fort Bend City Mayor and elected officials.  Each Major League Player will join Hope For Three and over 300 team players (volunteers) to host an inspiring day filled with sunshine, smiles, laughter and fun with over 100 Fort Bend Families living with autism! They have a game day jersey auction and new this year, is a silent auction featuring Grant Manier! Grant Manier is one of the most phenomenal young artists living with autism today whose work displays captivating colors out of intriguing pieces all from recycled materials. Grant has been featured in the Houston Chronicle, was recognized at the Texas Senate for his outstanding achievements as an artist, was a Congressional Art winner for the 8th District of Texas and was even mentioned in one of Temple Grandin’s speeches. This wonderful young boy has put together a signature eco-friendly piece titled ‘Heroes’ for the Strike Out Autism auction.

Please visit the website for more details. On the purple toolbar at the top you will see Events. Once the box has dropped Strike Out Autism will be one of the first listed. You can get all of the info you need there. We love us some hot dogs, soda, popcorn, a good game and lots and lots of smiles! Not to mention the kids will be very entertained and surrounded by full acceptance!

See ya there!
