SPACE Little Free Library Now Open
Have you heard of Little Free Library?
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that places book-sharing boxes – Little Free Libraries – on community lots, where people can have access to books, for no cost, and at anytime, 24/7! Little Free Library’s mission is to remove barriers to access to books. The idea of these libraries is to “take a book, share a book!” We’re excited to announce that SPACE now has a Little Free Library! To find out more about the SPACE Little Free Library, or to find others in the area, download the Little Free Library app.
We’ve been really looking forward to this partnership. We believe that the ideals of the Little Free Library program align well with ours. SPACE stands for Social, Play And Creative Education, and we know that the social piece of sharing within the community as well as the creative education our library will bring are in line with the spirit of SPACE.
We Look Forward to Teaching and Inspiring Children – And to the Quality Family Time That Our Little Free Library Will Bring
Our team of ST, OT, PT and ABA clinicians use books to teach language, encourage motor movement, discuss feelings, share in peer groups, share life lessons and even to teach social skills and expectations. We ALL use books to connect and share in special moments with our own families and friends and we are excited to think about the many families that will visit our library and cuddle up at night for a bedtime story and quiet time.
Our hope is that the kiddos at our clinic and within the community will share in this experience by grabbing a book, but also be thinking about books that they’d like to share with friends – including the ones they haven’t met yet. We also hope that families visit many Little Free Libraries as one more unique way to have special and quality time engaging with their children. We also hope the fun design of our rocketship library will launch kids’ love for reading and learning!

We are happy to be a part of a community, inspiring readers and expanding book access! This special library is dedicated to our mentor, Dr Serena Wieder, for being an inspiration and leader to us all.
